52% of people do not read books

The secretary of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution says that a report on the survey on how people spend their leisure time and the response of this statistical community shows that 45.8% of people read books and 52% of them say that they do not read books.

According to ILNA, Saeed Reza Ameli, stating that the field of art is one of the most important fields of civilization, providing public satisfaction and leisure of the people, said: “If we succeed in this field, cultural programs will not be imposed, but public satisfaction in public life.” Creates.

He pointed out that, contrary to what some people think, modernity destroys tradition, there is a connection between tradition and modernity. “From a sociological point of view, it is emphasized that tradition is highlighted in the modern period, and perhaps before modernity,” he said. It was nothing but a social tradition, and modern society, although it has brought about many and in many cases destructive changes in human life, does not mean the disappearance of earlier traditions. Tradition has become more prominent in the mirror of modernity, and in a way the nostalgic angles of returning to tradition have been strengthened by the influence of modernity.

The secretary of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution then said: “Postmodern art does not replace traditional art or pop music does not replace traditional music, and there is a tendency towards them.”

“The results of the third wave of the lifestyle survey have just been published by the Institute of Culture, Arts and Communications, which contains important points,” said Ameli, noting that spending leisure endowments takes up a large amount of hours of life during the day. In this study, 15,606 people were their sample population and provincial segregation can be extracted from it. It should be noted that sampling research, although it has a significant narrative, does not replace census.

He continued: “According to the reports, 11.5% of those who have one hour of free time, 15.5% of those who have two hours of free time, 17% of those who have three hours of free time, and those who have four hours of free time, have been sampled during non-holiday hours.” 4.5% and those who have more than 4 hours of free time make up 36.3% of our society. So we are from a large community with over four hours of free time on weekdays.

The Secretary of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, stating that people’s free time is filled with national media, satellite, going to coffee shops, cafes, going to book and art galleries, said: “Some studies are promising and we have announced statistics that say the average time spent reading Books are a quarter in Iranian society, but this survey shows that those who spend half an hour reading a book are 2.7 percent and those who read an hour are 7.8 percent, 6.7 percent say they read more than 5 hours, and This shows that Iranian society is changing.

He added: “Of course, the type of books they read is also significant, which makes the novel the first letter, and 19.2% are interested in reading novels and story books nationally, because there are also comfortable books, and 9.9% religious books and 7 4.% also read literature.

Professor of the Department of Communication, University of Tehran, stating that in this survey, people are asked if they read books, said: In response to this question, 45.8% say that “we read books” and 52% say that they do not read books. Now we are dealing with a society of readers and a society that does not read books, and we need to know what logic and type of action we face with each of them.

The Secretary of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution emphasized: Contrary to the perception of some people who think that satellite TV is the only reference and the most important reference in people’s lives, the statistics do not show this because this survey shows that the percentage of national media viewers has increased. On average, people say they watch national media for three hours.

The secretary of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution said: “When we look at the statistics related to art, almost 70% said they listen to music, 22% said they watch Iranian movies and 19.8% said they watch home series that are sold; Of course, this statistic is different on Internet TV, which is used by 50% and data mining must be done. It should be noted that according to the latest statistics, 80% of the Iranian population, ie a population of 67 million people use the Internet.

Emphasizing the pivotal and determining importance of hijab, Ameli said: “The next point is that the lack of hijab and lack of hijab has become an indicator for us, whether it is a religious society or not?” But there are other characteristics that show the fact that the majority of Iranians are religious and inclined to religious teachings and rituals.

“People are being asked, ‘Are you attending religious celebrations?’ 71.3% say they participate, which is very different in Tehran and other provinces. Participation in mourning and fasting ceremonies is 75% and also participation in religious lectures is 53%.

He added: “It is also a part of people’s leisure time in the mountains and nature, which is a happy statistic that 70.3% have stated that they have a walk in nature and so on.”

The Secretary of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, stating that a significant part of people’s leisure time is dedicated to the field of art and has the capacity of civilization, said: “Of course, the most important indicator of modern Islamic civilization is the establishment of justice. People provide comfort and tranquility, which is called glorious, healthy and pure art, and these require production, and the more manifestations of righteous deeds are manifested and developed in art, the better we will be in the position.

Emphasizing the regular meetings of the Arts Council of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution and the need to delegate some powers to the council, he said: “The Arts Council can use the capacity of existing councils such as the Comprehensive Map and Cultural Engineering and the Council for Education Transformation and Renovation.”

Ameli further stated: The glorious view of the Supreme Leader in the second step, which raises the issue of socialization, is aimed at the optimal use of art, which is a civilized view of the socialization of religious values in society, and this view is based on artistic ability.

He added: “If society feels controlled or lacks independence, it will put aside good food; Therefore, we must pay attention to socialization in the policies of Islamic art in order to have glorious successes.

The professor of the Communication Department of the University of Tehran also said: “The last point is that today we have focused our thoughts on the statement of the second step of the revolution and we expect the different departments to cooperate in this field.”

In the end, Saeed Reza Ameli stated: “We must extract and receive these characteristics of the new Islamic civilization, and if science and technology, art and many other things are placed in this direction, it will be very effective.” When we read only the characteristics of the society of the time of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), we find peace, let alone enjoy such a society.
