In a statement, council members stressed the need for an immediate end to the situation by all parties. They also expressed concern about the difficult economic and humanitarian situation in Yemen, and stressed the importance of facilitating humanitarian aid and the movement of fuel ships to the port of Hodeidah.

The council called on all parties to immediately cease hostilities, including the attack on the northern city of Ma’rib, and to work with Martin Griffith, the UN special envoy, to negotiate an unconditional ceasefire.
