The President-elect of the United States has nominated the representative of the state of New Mexico in the House of Representatives as his candidate for the post of Secretary of the Interior.
US President-elect Joe Biden has named Deb Hollande, a representative of the state of New Mexico in the House of Representatives, as his candidate for the post of Interior Minister, according to ILNA, quoting AFP.
If confirmed, he would be the first Native American to serve as head of a ministry.
During his tenure in Congress, he put serving the tribes on his agenda.
The US Department of the Interior has more than 70,000 employees.
