The agreement follows South Korea’s foreign minister’s visit to China, the first by a senior diplomat to Beijing in three years.
The two countries’ foreign ministers announced in a statement that the two countries agreed to pursue a “political process to resolve the crisis on the Korean Peninsula.”
The South Korean foreign minister also said he expects China to play a constructive role in building peace between Seoul and Pyongyang.
