Discover more than 1,600 counterfeit coins in Baneh

The head of the Baneh Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Department announced the seizure of 1,629 counterfeit coins in the city.

According to ILNA, Sadollah Rahimikhah announced this news, saying: in order to deal with fraud and prevent the sale and purchase of counterfeit objects, 1,629 counterfeit coins were discovered and confiscated by the forces of the Cultural Heritage Preservation Unit of this city.

Rahimikhah pointed to the arrest of two defendants in this case and added: the seized items such as early Islamic coins were forged and handed over to this office by a court order to be destroyed after completing the legal process.

The head of the Baneh Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Department further warned that they would be dealt with in accordance with the Islamic Penal Code.
