“We are determined to confirm that Turkey will never fail to exercise its sovereignty,” Anatolia news agency quoted Anatolia news agency as saying, according to Eqtesadnews, quoting Fars.
“Becoming a major intercontinental trade hub is a great achievement for Turkey and will benefit our 83 million people,” Erdogan added.
The Turkish vice president also said that Ankara was not afraid of unilateral US sanctions.
“As always, we will be in the interests of our people. We are not afraid of unilateral US sanctions,” Turkish Vice President Fouad Oktay said in a speech to parliament. “Turkey will not be discouraged by these sanctions.”
“Any country that deprives Turkey will have less room to act in the region,” he said, condemning Washington’s decision to impose unjust sanctions on his country.
