An art expert believes that, unfortunately, many of the world’s museums, miniatures and Iranian treasures are now named after themselves because of some of the issues that have political roots. At present, every country is trying to name the historical treasures of the world in its own name, and in this regard, some Arab countries feed on genuine and valuable Iranian objects.
In an interview with ISNA, Behnam Kamrani, an art expert and university lecturer who also curates some art exhibitions Regarding the global registration of “miniature art” with the cooperation of Iran, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, and in response to the question of which country the origin of this original art belongs to, he said: According to historical evidence, the main origin of miniature art is Iran; But other countries such as Turkey, India, Uzbekistan, etc. also have miniature art that has found local aspects and is noticeable in its place.
He continued: “In general, civilizations have traded and influenced each other throughout history; For example, the effects of Indian miniatures can be seen in works of art left from the Safavid era in the city of Isfahan. But the fact is that the beginning of miniatures dates back to pre-Islamic and Manichaean periods, and the oldest miniatures in the world were formed in the cultural context of Iran.
The art expert pointed out: In the meantime, it should be borne in mind that the general use of the word “miniature” is problematic. In general, in the world, every delicate role is called a miniature, so when we want to learn about original Iranian painting, we must say “Iranian miniature”; Because every nation has a delicate painting that is called “miniature”, but Iranian miniature has its own different and special features and its coordinates show well that it originated from the Iranian civilization.
“These countries were part of Iran in the ancient geography of Iran and are rooted in Iranian culture,” he said. “But what matters now is what all these countries are doing to preserve the original art of miniature.” Lahore University in Pakistan now has a Department of Miniature and, despite its traditional art, is world-renowned. Most of these countries had a colonial history and after the removal of colonialism, they tried to return to their traditional arts and revive them.
Asked what is the use of the global registration of miniatures for the prosperity of this original art in Iran, Kamrani said: “There is always cultural and scientific competition between different countries and everyone tries to register their heritage faster than others.” To send. Naturally, global registration is effective in attracting tourism and increasing regional studies; But on the other hand, we must also keep in mind that global registration alone is not enough, but we must pay attention to the main heritage of the people who work in this field and support them spiritually and materially. In fact, this heritage must be preserved, because if it is not preserved, its global registration is useless.
“Unfortunately, due to some issues that have political roots, many museums around the world have named Iranian miniatures and treasures after themselves and introduced them in this way,” he said. For example, some museums in Baku have displayed the historical treasures of our country, but have not mentioned Iran. At present, every country is trying to name the historical treasures of the world in its name, and in this regard, some Arab countries feed on original and valuable Iranian objects.
