According to the Saudi Interior Ministry, entry through the land and sea crossings has been temporarily suspended for a week, which can be extended.
The Saudi Interior Ministry added: “All people who entered Saudi Arabia in the last three months from European countries or countries where the corona has spread must take the corona test.”
Also, those who entered Saudi Arabia by flight from European countries during the last two weeks or so must be quarantined at home for two weeks.
Earlier, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy, Germany, Iran, Kuwait and Turkey had banned incoming flights from the UK amid growing concerns over the spread of a new strain of the coronavirus in the south of the UK.
The recent emergency restrictions imposed by some countries come as Britain’s health minister has called the newly identified strain of the coronavirus “uncontrollable” in terms of its rate of spread.
