ISIL senior commander arrested by popular uprising in western Iraq

According to reports EconomyNews According to ISNA, Sumaria News reported that the organization announced in a statement that the joint forces of the Intelligence of the Popular Mobilization Organization and the second brigade of this organization arrested one of the senior commanders of ISIL.

The statement did not reveal the identity of the detainee. But it was reported that he was one of the security officials of the ISIS terrorist group in Anbar.

Coinciding with the arrest of the ISIS commander during a planned operation, the Iraqi Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency reported the seizure of ISIL military equipment in the northern Iraqi province of Kirkuk.

Kirkuk intelligence forces at the Interior Ministry confiscated military equipment inside an ISIL base in the province.

Iraqi security forces continue to search and clear ISIL remnants in the country.

In December 2017, Iraq announced the complete liberation of its territory from the control of ISIS after nearly four years of fighting with this terrorist group, which had taken over about a third of the country.
