ISNA / Kerman In Iran, the birthday of Hazrat Zainab (peace be upon him) has been named as Nurse’s Day and some have considered the reason for this naming as her nursing of Imam Sajjad (as) and other patients and prisoners of Karbala.
The nurse is a key member of the health care team and an important member of the health care team who has a wide range of roles.
The work of a good doctor reaches the desired level when a good and experienced nurse is in charge of his patient and it should be noted that the duty of a nurse is not only to care for the patient in the hospital but also a nurse to take care of people at all stages of life. They range from disease prevention to disease care and post-disease rehabilitation.
Aside from the importance of the nursing profession now that the whole world is suffering from coronavirus, the role of these loved ones has become more and more important and how many health advocates, including nurses, have sacrificed their lives in this way.
These days, our lives are all tied to the corona. With death rates being announced once a day, the number of cases increasing or decreasing every day, the number of people still at risk, and a community that seems unwilling or unable to understand the depth of the Corona disaster.
In the meantime, however, the important issue is the fatigue and illness of the medical staff, who spent their entire 10 months trying and caring for coronary patients in hospitals to recover. Those who risked their lives and worked hard for the patients, those who did not even get their salaries on time, were forced to be deprived of seeing their loved ones for months so that they would not be bitten and on the other hand they did not leave the patients alone.
Many of these nurses died in this way, and all this time their only request to the people was to avoid unnecessary travel, to follow health protocols, and to value the lives of themselves and their loved ones.
On the occasion of Nurse’s Day, we had a conversation with one of Kermani’s nurses; “I like my job very much, but now the situation is very difficult and we have very bad patients in Corona,” said Maryam, who works in the corona ward of a hospital in Kerman. We do as much for them as we can, and it is very sad when the patient loses.
Noting that the two-week restrictions were very effective, he added: “The number of corona deaths has decreased and the situation has improved, but we should not start again and hold, for example, the Yalda period, etc., which will increase the disease.”
The coronation nurse stated that if we follow and the situation continues in the current routine, it will be much better: “We have very heavy shifts and sometimes the medical forces are gone and we had to do intensive shifts and morning and night and a few shifts.” Let’s come one after the other.
He said: “Unfortunately, the nurses are not given the attention they deserve, and the promises made to the nurses remain true, and we have colleagues who, after five months, have not yet received their overtime.”
Maryam, who has seven years of experience, said that she loves nursing very much. “My father was not satisfied with me studying nursing, and when I was accepted, he did not congratulate me, but I like my job very much,” she said.
Referring to the migration of some nurses in the current situation, he said: “In any job, if they are welcomed elsewhere, they will migrate, but there are those who stay because of commitment to the people, love of homeland and dependence on family.”
“We had a case where a father, mother, daughter and aunt were hospitalized due to coronary heart disease, and unfortunately the mother died in front of her daughter,” the nurse said of her bitterest memory of the past few months.
He said a mother and her 21-year-old son had taken a corona, and the mother was in critical condition and transferred to the ICU, which fortunately recovered and was discharged. His son was very ill and after 20 days, while we did not even think he would stay and he was in a bad condition, he recovered and was discharged, leaving a good memory for us, and in general, the recovery of the patients is very gratifying for us.
Maryam continues her request to the people as follows: They should observe some more time to get through this situation and I emphasize that they should even buy a house for a week and do not leave the house as much as possible, which is in controlling the corona. It is very effective.
“I have a three-year-old daughter who complains about my many work shifts, and unfortunately, due to the amount of work and fatigue, I sometimes spend two hours a day with my daughter,” he says.
The coronation nurse added: “The situation is very difficult and we should all pray and join hands to overcome the current situation, which is the war with Corona, together.”
According to ISNA, these were the nurses who saw the deaths of patients every day during all these months, heard the cries of the survivors and bought the tired ones but did not bend their eyebrows, so we stand for your respect and for you, for your work and for All of you who live on the battlefield as health defenders will shake hands and bow our heads ….
