Mahdavi Kia’s revelation about Ivitch’s correct prediction in the 1998 World Cup

Mehdi Mahdavikia has many memories of the 1998 World Cup in France, and of course he also remembers Ivitch.

Mehdi Mahdavi Kia, referring to Tomislav Ivitch’s intelligence, says: “A few months before the 1998 World Cup in France, Ivitch, who thought he would be sitting on the bench of the Iranian team in the World Cup, said on the plane that if we score a goal against Yugoslavia in the World Cup, only on a kick.” We plant flowers because they can not flower for us in any other way, and in fact we close all the ways.

Interestingly, Ivitch’s prediction came true and Yugoslavia opened the gates of Iran on exactly one shot. Of course, Ivitch himself was not in the World Cup and Iran went to France with Jalal Talebi, but Ivitch had such a detailed analysis of the rivals that he knew how we would score if we were to score goals from the likes of Yugoslavia, Germany and the United States!
