The 17th National Resistance Theater Festival hosts the works of 16 female directors, along with female directors, writers and actors, and this is a sign of the successful and colorful presence of female theater artists in the country in this event.
According to ILNA, a list of the names of the directors of the 17th National Resistance Theater Festival shows that the organizing committee and the selection committee of this national event evaluated the works received by the secretariat of the festival not on the basis of names or gender, but on the quality of works. This time, the number of female directors has become more impressive than ever. Women directors in this period of the Resistance Theater Festival have also competed in the form of stage, student, children and adolescent and street theater. A competition that has existed before and in previous periods of the Resistance Theater Festival, and usually women have not left this event empty-handed.
In recent years, the Resistance Theater Festival has also faced the brilliance of the country’s women theater. The 16th festival of this event is one of these festivals in which Mahsa Talebi Rostami, Fatemehollah Yarnejad, Marjan Pourhossein, Maral Izadbakhsh, Roghayeh Valipour, Fatemeh Radmanesh, Delaram Turki, Atieh Javid, Mojgan Khaleghi, Sara Yazdani, Narges Saberi in The various sections of directing, writing, acting, atmosphere and photography received various titles selected for the 16th Resistance Theater Festival.
* Competition of three female directors in the stage section of the 17th festival
Of the 25 stage plays that have participated in the 17th National Resistance Theater Festival, three are directed by women. “Lily Ivory” is one of the experienced artists among the women of this section, who competes with other directors of the stage section by writing and directing the play “Where is Ibrahim”.
“Maryam Mansouri”, the writer and director of the play “We Came to Die Here”, is another woman who participated in the 17th Resistance Theater Festival.
“Yalda Montazeri” is also present in the stage section by writing and directing the play “For Tea and Bullets” and is testing her work.
* Presence of five female directors in the student section
The student section of the 17th National Resistance Theater Festival hosts 12 works from various universities in the country, including 5 plays directed by women.
“Goddess of Action”, director of the play “Khorramshahr 11” from “Tehran University of Applied Sciences 46”, “Sajieh Ashouri” from “Soura University of Tehran”, director of the play “Highway of Silence”, “Parisa Doosti”, director of the play “Fishes Do Not Forget” from the university “Tarbiat Modares Tehran”, “Priya Babaei” directed the play “Memories of a house that is not” from “Arak Azad University” and “Vidamousavi” directed the play “Behesht Hakimullah” from “Tehran University of Applied Sciences 46” in this part of the festival with Other works compete.
* Six plays in the street section of the 17th festival, directed and performed by women
The street section of the 17th National Resistance Theater Festival is facing a significant presence of women who have a serious and effective presence in various fields of directing, writing and acting.
“Parvin Malek Alaei” is one of the artists with a history of street theater in the country, who is present in this round of the Resistance Theater Festival as a writer with the street play “Life Story”.
Also, “Maral Izadbakhsh”, one of the winners of the 16th Resistance Theater Festival, in the 17th period of this event, directed and acted in the play “Who is responsible?” It competes with other works. Izadbakhsh is also the author of the play “All My Paintings” co-directed by “Zahra Moridi” and Amir Mohammad Ensafi in the street section.
“Maryam Doosti” with the direction of the street play “Ali Soot Balbali” from Isfahan province, “Arezoo Baluch Jafari” with the direction and acting of the play “Sensitive Skins” from Kerman province, “Somayeh Mehri” for the joint direction of the play “Shusha” from “Tehran” And “Marjan Karami” from the central province, who directed the play “Please film me”, are also among the women who are participating in the street section of the 17th National Resistance Theater Festival.
* 3 performances in the children and adolescents section of the festival, written and directed by women
The 17th National Resistance Theater Festival will host 10 plays in its children and adolescents section, including “Lullaby Thief” co-written by Faezeh Feyz and Bahram Jalalipour, “Puppet Tears” written by Neda Etemadikia and co-directed by Hajar Jannejad and Neda Etemadikia. And the play “Ride a Man” co-written by Hayam Ahmadi and Faramarz Gholamian and directed by Hayam Ahmadi is one of the works produced by the women present at the festival.
* The presence of 14 female writers in the 17th station of the Resistance Theater Festival
The 17th National Resistance Theater Festival kicked off online with a total of 55 performances in the theatrical, street, student, and children and adolescent categories. Of these 51 works, 9 plays written by women have been produced.
Lily Iaj wrote the play “Where is Ibrahim”, Fereshteh Hosseini wrote the play “Sensitive Skins”, Simin Behfar wrote the play “Shusha”, Marjan Karami wrote the play “Please film me”, Maral Izadbakhsh and Zahra Moridi co-wrote the play “All My Paintings”, Priya Doosti with the play “Fish Do Not Forget”, Behnaz Doosti with the play “Mirashkar”, Maryam Mansouri with the play “We Came to Die Here”, Yalda Montazeri with the play “For Tea and Bullets” Faezeh Feyz wrote the play “The Thief of Lullabies”, Tayebeh Nikazad wrote the play “Letters to My Daughter Sohrab”, Neda Etemadikia wrote the play “Tears of a Doll” and Hayam Ahmadi wrote the play “A Pedal Man” and Among the women writers are this round of the festival.
The 17th National Resistance Theater Festival will be held in two ways, live and online, from December 16 to December 23, under the auspices of Hamid Nili, the secretary of the Revolutionary Theater and Holy Defense Association of the Fatah Narrative Cultural Foundation.
