The U.S. Air Force has increased the number of F-35 Lightning 2 stealth fighters stationed at Alaska Air Force Base in Alaska to 20, Sputnik news agency reported.

According to the news agency, “Kelly Dubois”, the spokesperson of “Elson” air base, told reporters in this regard that the last fighters arrived in this area a few days ago.

Kelly Dubois also added that a new group of these fighters will enter the area in April 2021.

He added: “We will continue to increase our fighters.” By the end of 2021, we will have all 54 fighters at our base.

According to Sputnik, with the deployment of several Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning 2 fighters, each of the two squadrons of 336 and 335 will have 27 aircraft at this air base.

The Eilson Air Force Base is located about 1,000 kilometers from the Russian border.
