In a meeting with the presence of the Governor of Gilan and the Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and the Managing Director of the Transportation Infrastructure Construction and Development Company, the latest progress of the Rasht-Caspian railway project was reviewed and the need to complete the project by June 1400 was emphasized.

According to ILNA from Rasht, a meeting to review the progress of the Rasht-Caspian railway project was attended by the Governor of Gilan, the Deputy Governor for Civil Affairs and a number of provincial managers in the office of the Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and CEO of the Transportation Infrastructure Construction and Development Company. It was held and the necessity of completing the project by June 1400 was emphasized.

Acceleration in the implementation of technical buildings such as stairs, clearing the path, providing the materials needed for the project through three dams Sangar, Tarik and Manjil and also widening the roads in the axes of Imamzadeh Hashem to Rudbar and Punel to Khalkhal were among the items that were emphasized in this meeting. it placed.

Also, the relocation of the existing opposition facilities on the Rasht-Caspian railway line by water and sewage, electricity, telecommunication and gas companies and the performance of work in three work shifts, if possible, were other items emphasized in this meeting.

It was decided to finance this project in the amount of two thousand billion rials.

Also, the remaining progress of the Rasht-Qazvin freeway project in Manjil and Rudbar areas was examined and while pointing to the required financial resources, it was emphasized to work in three shifts, relocate the facilities and complete the project by June 1400.

Rasht-Caspian railway is part of the Qazvin-Rasht-Anzali railway project, the executive operation of which starts from the national development credits and with the completion of the project, the center of Gilan province will be connected to the Caspian free zone. Implementation of this project in addition to the importance of domestic transportation, freight and passengers in Gilan province; In terms of creating a new rail corridor for the country’s exports and imports, as well as the transit of goods from the northern regions of the country to the Persian Gulf, international open waters and other neighboring countries of Iran are also very important.

In the second half of September this year, one of the final steps to connect the Persian Gulf to the Caspian Sea by laying the Rasht-Caspian railway with a length of 40 km was taken.
