The United States must return to Burjam without preconditions

China’s foreign minister calls for US return to Iran nuclear deal

He stressed today at the informal virtual meeting of the foreign ministers of Iran and the P4 + 1 (Britain, France, Germany, China, Russia) that the United States should return to the UN Security Council as soon as possible without preconditions.

Wang Yi blamed Iran’s unilateral withdrawal from the nuclear deal and Washington’s policy of “maximum pressure” on our country, adding that the nuclear situation in Iran was in line with Joe Biden’s decision. It has reached a critical juncture to bring the United States back to Burjam. He added, however, that the United States was also increasing pressure on Iran.

The Chinese Foreign Minister continued his speech by emphasizing that the American side should lift sanctions against Iran and third-party institutions and parties upon its return to the UN Security Council. Accordingly, Iran must also return to its obligations in the UN Security Council.

He added: “China suggests that the parties to the UN Security Council hold consultations on this issue as soon as possible so that the process of US return to the agreement can begin.”

According to the report, Wang said that joint efforts are needed to maintain the stability of the UN Security Council and to improve the situation in the direction expected by the international community.

The senior Chinese diplomat continued his speech at today’s meeting by emphasizing that disputes related to the implementation of the UN Security Council should be resolved fairly and impartially, and warned that linking regional security issues to the UN Security Council would create a self-constructed barrier to the process.

He added that China is proposing to establish a special multilateral dialogue platform in the Persian Gulf region to launch a comprehensive dialogue process to better address security issues in the region.

Earlier, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin called on the UN Security Council (Iran, Britain, France, Russia, China, plus Germany) to use political determination to resolve the Iranian political issue through diplomatic means.

“At the moment, the issue of Iran’s nuclear program is a very complex and sensitive issue,” Wang Wenbin said, describing the Iranian nuclear issue as “very sensitive and complex,” according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry. “We hope that, through the Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, all parties will further strengthen their efforts to safeguard and implement UNSCR 2231.”

The informal meeting of the Iranian foreign ministers and the P4 + 1 group was held today (Monday) in the presence of “Joseph Borrell”, the EU foreign policy chief, and lasted for about two and a half hours, and finally a joint statement was issued.

The Burjam parties stated in the statement: “Burjam members reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining the agreement and reaffirmed their efforts in this regard. They continue the need for full and effective implementation of the UNHCR by all parties and address the current challenges of implementation. [برجام]”They discussed, among other things, nuclear non-proliferation and sanctions lifting commitments.”

Ahead of today’s meeting of the P5 + 1 foreign ministers and Iran, EU foreign policy chief Joseph Borrell stressed that the parties to the Iran nuclear deal intend to emphasize the need to maintain order.

Earlier, British Foreign Secretary Dominique Robb said: “I will meet again this Christmas with my counterparts in the Troika and possibly Iran – if they want to take part – to make sure we can reach a peaceful solution.”
